Metal Spinning Process

Metal spinning, or spin forming, is a specialized metal working process where a disc or tube of metal is rotated at high speed and formed into an axially symmetric part using precision tools.

Unlike mass-produced stamping, spinning allows for more complex shapes, thicker materials, and much lower tooling costs, making it the ideal choice for prototype work and bespoke production.

Did You Know?

Virtually any ductile metal can be formed, from standard aluminium to high-strength aerospace alloys.

Hand Spinning

Performed on manual spinning lathes by highly skilled artisans. This method offers unparalleled flexibility and is perfect for decorative items and low-volume technical parts.

Mandrels & Tooling

Forms (mandrels) are crafted from wood, steel alloys, or synthetic materials. Our design expertise ensures the right material choice for your production volume and tolerance requirements.

Finishing

From polished stainless steel to industrial-grade aluminium finishes, our spinning process results in smooth, consistent surfaces ready for use or further treatment.
